Mr Chandrakant Salunkhe has also founded SME Chamber of India in the year 1993 to provide support to SMEs, Young Entrepreneurs and Start-ups for business growth, export promotion, imparting knowledge & education for transformation of their business activity, capacity building for global competitiveness, interface with policy makers, channelise finance & investment, joint ventures, technology transfers, setting up industries and expansion and diversification of business activities in India and Overseas. Mr Chandrakant Salunkhe has been organising various State, National and International level activities and trade promotional events for the empowerment and strengthening of Entrepreneurs since 1985.
Mr Salunkhe has been in the forefront for policy change and policy implementation for SME sector and taken an initiative to set up SME Stock Exchange, National Skill Development Corporation, TReDS – Electronic platform for Trade Receivables for SMEs, inclusion of SME sector for providing level playing field in ease of doing business facilities, identification of emerging export market for SMEs and affordable advanced technology for better and quality productivity, exclusive SME department in the State of Maharashtra as well as guidance to Start-ups, Young and Women Entrepreneurs for converting their business ideas into profitable venture and commercialization of inventions & innovations.

Being a Chairman of Law & Order of “Federation of Association of Maharashtra”, Mr Salunkhe took the initiative to improve deteriorated law and order situation of Mumbai and organised confidence building activities amongst business SMEs, industrialist and traders on 17th November, 1998.
Active involvement in organising “Advantage Maharashtra” the first ever investment event along with Government of Maharashtra in 1996 at Mumbai.

Mr Salunkhe has been member on various Government Committees, Study Groups, Sub-Committees and Panels to give inputs to the Government related to Industry, Finance, Banking, Exports, Start-ups and SME Sector for Policy change, Policy Implementation, Increase of Incentives and advantages.
